What’s “Visualization”?

Basically, it’s a technical arts degree offered by an agricultural and mechanical school.

Texas A&M University offers three specializations in their undergraduate program: animation, game design, and interactive media. While I dabbled in these other industry areas, I chose to specialize in interactive media. My courses covered a lot of ground, including but not limited to:

  • 2D & 3D Design Studios

  • Years of Graphic Design courses

  • 3 semesters of Interactive Media studios (with real client experience)

  • Software-specific courses (Adobe Suite, Maya, etc.)

  • Computer Coding (Linux, Python, C++, HTML, CSS)

  • Engineering Calculus (although you should ask an engineer and never me to check your calculations…)

  • Art History (Prehistoric through Contemporary)

  • Visual Perception and Psychology in Design

  • Writing for Design

  • Traditional Drawing & Life Drawing studios

  • An individual, directed study on Color Theory

  • Glass Sculpture, Printmaking, and Cultural & Architectural Appreciation (Italy Study Abroad)
